Administrative/ Marketing Internship
Intern Dates: Fall Semester
Hours: Schedule is flexible; 15 hours a week
Supervisor: Alison Schmidt, Business Manager
Interns Will:
Gain hands-on experience with all aspects of the managing an entrepreneurial design firm
Hone the marketing techniques necessary for creating marketing documents and campaigns
Network with other professionals in landscape architecture, urban planning, architecture and design
Apply classroom marketing and business concepts in the work environment
Intern Duties & Responsibilities Overview-
Business Administration:
· filing and scanning
· Banking
· scheduling various meetings and lunches
· attend various meetings with key staff members
· meeting notes and reports
· database management including invoicing and time tracking
· ordering and organizing all supplies, materials and samples
· general office organization
· errands and other administrative tasks as needed
Marketing/PR
· social media and website updates and schedules
· basic graphic design assistance for invitations, proposals and other marketing collateral
· mailing list updates and changes
· project research
Intern Requirements & Qualifications
The candidate must be enrolled in, or have graduated from, an accredited university. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required. Proficiency in InDesign, AutoCAD and Photoshop is a plus and may lead to other responsibilities such as assisting the firm on projects. The candidate should be motivated and have strong graphic and written communication skills as well as the ability to work efficiently and independently, manage their time accordingly, and be detail oriented. Candidate should also be able to stand and lift heavy objects around the office. Arrive on time and ready to work. The candidate will be expected to attend company functions and networking events.
