Business Development Intern

Foreign Policy has an immediate need for a full-time Business Development Intern join our team in New York, NY. The successful candidate will work as part of our sales team to help grow institutional subscriptions and advertising revenue. We are a collaborative team and candidates should enjoy working with a diverse group of professionals. 
 
Every day, FP’s Business Team works with marquee clients to sell and execute industry-leading partnerships that fully leverage FP’s content, platforms and reputation. Each subscription and advertising campaign is uniquely tailored to client needs and we have been successful in developing long-term relationships that allow us to be truly innovative. The Business Development Intern will work with the Business Team to help FP reach and exceed our revenue goals
 
The person in this position will:
  • Conduct research to formulate business development leads and ideas
  • Help source prospects
  • Create pitch emails around themes and concepts that leverage Foreign Policy’s strengths
  • Update and maintain sales database
  • Actively participate in discussions to help grow our subscriptions and advertising revenue

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated interest in marketing and business development
  • An outgoing personality and a desire to connect with people inside and outside of the organization
  • Demonstrated interest in international relations
  • Word, Excel, and Powerpoint proficiency
  • Understanding of database management and database mining technology
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a bachelor’s program
  
This position is expected to start in May and we will review applications on a rolling basis.
