Sales and Marketing Intern

Foreign Policy has an immediate need for a full-time Summer Sales and Marketing Intern to join our team in Washington DC. The successful candidate will work as part of our business team. FP is a collaborative place and candidates should enjoy working with a diverse group of professionals.
 
Every day, FP’s business team works with marquee clients to imagine, sell and execute industry-leading partnerships, to include events, advertising and promotional campaigns, that fully leverage FP’s platforms and reputation. Each partnership is uniquely tailored to client needs and we have been successful in developing long-term relationships that allow us to be truly innovative. The Sales and Marketing Intern will work closely with all members of the business team to help us exceed our revenue targets.
 
The person in this position will:
  • Conduct research to help formulate business development leads and ideas
  • Track news and developments that can provide new business opportunities for Foreign Policy
  • Gather and compile news coverage and information related to trade policy, upcoming global elections, individual countries’ efforts to encourage FDI, multinational issues affecting large global corporations, etc
  • Create pitch emails around themes and concepts that leverage Foreign Policy’s strengths and what’s happening in the global marketplace
  • Create, build and maintain b2b marketing communications campaigns and database of business contacts 

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated interest in B2B marketing and business development
  • An outgoing personality and a desire to connect with people inside and outside of the organization
  • Demonstrated interest in international relations
  • Expert level PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Understanding of database management and database mining technology
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a bachelor’s program
  
This position is expected to start in May and we will review applications on a rolling basis.
