Category Marketing Internship

This is not your ‘go grab coffee’ internship!

Our summer KEENtern program provides students relevant and valuable hands-on work experience in 9 busy weeks at the global headquarters in Portland, Oregon.

We’re looking for students who have a strong passion for: creating their own opportunities, seeking innovative solutions, playing any place without a ceiling, and caring for the world around them. Having a diverse background and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced, innovative environment is a plus.

This program includes:
  • A cross-departmental group project with 5-10 other KEENterns

Program Requirements
  • Work experience preferred, including but not limited to: work study, volunteer, internships, hospitality industry, administrative or office work, etc.
  • Current student or recent graduate; Junior, Senior, or Grad student preferred
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Must be able to participate in 9-week program from June 17 through August 16, 2019 

General Summary:
The Category Marketing team works to drive integrated product stories and manage category Go-To-Market programs throughout all fan touch-points. As the category marketing intern, you will help with identifying and executing product storytelling and category marketing opportunities. You will work with key departments to aid in the development of seasonal key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help communicate integrated category Go-To-Market programs and marketing initiatives
  • Partner with key teams to develop integrated marketing plans, consumer campaigns and product launches
  • Maximize key global and regional product initiatives across all consumer touch-points (IE: Media, Digital, Social, Out Of Home, etc.)
  • Help coordinate seasonal Go-To-Market Calendar aligning key dates and timelines
  • Research consumer trends and distill actionable insights for story development and tactical effectiveness. Translate competitive analysis into channel and regional marketing strategies
  • Explore new marketing concepts, communication platforms, and cutting-edge programs to drive brand storytelling, increase fan base and positively impact sales

Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Experience in digital, social media, mobile, and alternative marketing
  • Skilled communicator, both written and verbal
  • Excellent understanding of consumer behavior and ability to utilize consumer insights to drive targeted marketing messages
  • Ability to work cross-functionally on a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Apple Keynote
